WHAT IS RE:life?RE:life is part of the equipping ministry of Refuge Church. In Ephesians Chapter four Paul says that God gave teachers and pastors to equip all believers to do the work of ministry and to build up the church. The Purpose of RE:life is to equip members and regular attendees of Refuge with practical tools, habits, and practices to be life long disciples of Christ. RE:life is designed in light of the primary goal of theology which is a deeper transforming knowledge of God, leading to the appropriate, and natural response of practical application. The Gospel is not to be just a component of our lives, but the driving and shaping Truth in our lives. Our desire is to strategically target specific areas of life and theology to discuss and learn together in 4-week sessions. In all of life we are called to Rethink, Renew and Respond.SO WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!Basically, for four weeks class participants will get together once a week for two hours, to discuss, learn, and challenge one another on the assigned topic. The goals of the class sessions are learning, growth, and fellowship. In order for these things to take place we all must be challenged to rethink our assumptions, be renewed in our minds and hearts, and respond in love to our God and our neighbors. A short reading, to prepare everyone for each night together, will precede each class.WHY CALL IT RE:life?The leadership of Refuge is convinced that as people encounter the finished work of Jesus, they are constantly challenged to Rethink their assumptions, and as this begins and continues to happen these people are Renewed by the truth of the gospel. The natural and necessary outcome of these two things is to Respond with a gospel centered life. So, when you put these three things together you get Re:life.WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?The only thing you will need to bring is a Bible, a pen, and paper.HOW DO I SIGN UP?This is the really easy part!
